Proud to see my artwork featured in the National Piers Society Magazine following my capture of a powerful photo of Sandown Pier on the Isle of Wight.

Having completed four individual and original linocuts I gifted the one pictured to the taker of the original photograph, Lindsay Jobling, as he was shielding during the current Covid 19 pandemic. I have always been fascinated by the pier structures as much as what sits on them curiously enough and looking at some of the pictures on social media I am not alone.
The Society, founded in 1979 under Sir John Betjeman, seeks to highlight not only the beauty and historical nature of the seaside structures but also raise awareness of their plights. A worthy cause and one to contemplate whilst enjoying your ice creams. Visit http://www.piers.org.uk for more information about these Victorian masterpieces.
